Long-time Slamdance shorts programmer Breven Angaelica Warren has organized her own community in the Slamdance spirit, the Columbia Gorge International Film Festival.

At Slamdance, we all agree that this sounds like an amazing retreat. We thought it would be nice to share the following offer from Breven:

Greetings Slamdance Friends,
As a most dedicated member of the Slamdance Shorts Programming committee and the Slamdance community, I would like to share a special Festival friend offer.

The 7th Annual Columbia Gorge International Film Festival will take place in Washougal, Washington from August 1-17, 2014. An awesome and unique experience in the like-minded spirit of Slamdance, CGIFF encourages and supports emerging filmmakers in a mentorship environment. CGIFF's traditional and non-traditional screenings, workshops and guest speaker events are completely free to attend and open to all.

In 2014, CGIFF will encourage an imaginative creation process by incorporating outdoor adventures in the Pacific Northwest including hiking, camping, white water kayaking and playing at the river with fellow filmmakers, all while building a network of talented and creative professionals.
Columbia Gorge doesn't just end at a Film Festival. As a year-round organization, CGIFF hosts pop-up art galleries and events ranging from experimental live film installations to educational urban farming, all geared towards making challenging, unique and inspired work with a familial community.

I invite you to join the CGIFF community by extending to you 20% off of our Earlybird Deadline submission fee. Please don't forget to mention that Slamdance sent you, because we have an announcement just for Slamdance filmmakers!

Feel embraced,
Breven Angaelica Warren
