COVERAGE SERVICE:  

    * Online coverage is two pages of feedback from the Slamdance readers that is provided for an additional fee (on top of the submission fee) that is available by signing onto the website using your username and password. Our standard service is posted in approximately a month, while our rushed coverage is available a week after it arrives at the Slamdance office. Writers will be provided with an indication of strengths and weaknesses and criticism from industry professionals to further develop teleplays into final drafts.

SECOND READER OPTION

    * We encourage you to select the multiple reader option. Based on the comments and score of the first reader, a percentage of scripts will go on to be read multiple times for finalist contention. But to guarantee that a second reader reviews your script, we give you the option to ensure an extra read. Keep in mind that quality scripts will be read multiple times regardless of the additional fee.

RULES:

   1. Teleplays must be original material. We will not accept spec scripts for existing shows, treatments or reality television pilots.

   2. Teleplays must be hour or half-hour pilots. Additional material will not be read or considered.

   3. Teleplays must not have been previously optioned, purchased or produced.

   4. Teleplays that have received awards from other competitions prior to May 21, 2007 are ineligible.

   5. Checks returned to us will incur a standard $25 fee that must be paid, even if you choose to pull your teleplay from the competition.

GUIDELINES:

   1. Make sure Teleplay Cover is contains the title only (do not include your name or contact information bound in your teleplay).

   2. Only include contact information for the Primary Contact on your online application.

   3. In the event of multiple writers, list the additional names; awards will be divided equally.

   4. Teleplays should be in 12-point courier font, in English.

   5. Do not include a separate title page, an additional synopsis, treatment, press kit, etc. with your teleplay submission.

   6. Teleplays should be copyrighted or registered material.

   7. We only accept checks made out to Slamdance that drawn on an American bank, and Money Orders or Traveller’s Checks in US funds. To pay by credit card, fill out a credit card authorization form , and send it with your application.

   8. Include a self-addressed stamped postcard for delivery confirmation. Do not call the Slamdance office to confirm the arrival of your teleplay.
